Lost in Translation (2003)

Bill Murray takes a Golden-Globe-winning turn as middle-aged American film actor Bob Harris, who, like so many others, has taken a lucrative gig overseas, filming a Japanese whiskey commercial. While in Tokyo, surrounded by overfriendly hosts and fans who speak little if any English, and with a physical distance from his family surpassed only by the emotional distance grown out of years of marriage, he meets Charlotte (Scarlett Johannson), the young wife of a visiting photographer.

She is lost at the beginning of her life's journey, and he is lost towards the end of his. Lonely and bored, the two Americans amidst a foreign world become friends, with a hint of something more. However, as they get to know each other, alternately exploring the nightclub scene and engaging in deep psychological discussions, nothing is lost in translation.

Winner of three Golden Globes, including Best Picture (Musical/Comedy) and Best Screenplay.

Bernice Chin (Wai Ching Ho) has never really known her estranged son Wilson. Now a car accident has put Wilson into a coma. And the only clue he's left behind is a box of twenty-year-old toy robots. As her daughter Grace (Cindy Cheung) presses her to deal with Wilson's deteriorating condition, Bernice becomes obsessed with Wilson's toys, as if repairing the robots will help her connect with her unreachable son.

The Robot Fixer will begin promptly at the scheduled starting time for Lost in Translation, so arrive early!
