a young model with an absent but possessive boyfriend. After running over a 
dog, Valentine tracks down its owner, a reclusive, retired judge who 
eavesdrops on phone calls. While Kieslowski dips into the characters' 
interconnected lives, the central drama of the film is the electrifying 
encounter between caring and troubled Valentine and the judge, whose 
tendency to play God initially fails to match the girl's compassion.
Directed by Krzystof Kieslowski, this is the third film of the Trois 
Couleurs trilogy.  In French with English subtitles.
