Based upon a novel by Robert Harris, and with a screenplay by
Tom Stoppard (Brazil, Shakespeare in Love), Enigma is
a story about cryptanalysts during World War II. In March of
1943, it became apparent that the Nazis had developed a new
secret code. Breaking it was to be the key to winning the war.
Meanwhile, one brilliant young mathematician working on the
project had a personal crisis as well - his love Claire had
disappeared. Claire's best friend (Kate Winslet) would help
him find her...and her own dark secrets.
